Welcome to St. Theresa School and First Grade. I am Vanessa Silva the First Grade teacher. This year marks my 12th year of teaching. I am excited about this brand new school year.

To supplement the regular curriculum I will be adding fun and interesting topics that will be integrated across the curriculum. The units will incorporate Math, Language Arts, Art, Music and Science.

These are the themes that are covered during the school year.

September - Friendship and All About Me

October - Where the Wild Things Are

November - Bears

December - Advent and Christmas

January - House/Community Unit

February - Dental Health

April - Insect Unit

May - States Unit

Students also learn about holidays and people who have shaped our country.

Students will be creating a Wild Thing monster and a building for the community project. Also, students will create a project and a written report for the Insect Unit and States Unit.
