Dear St. Theresa Families,
A big thank you to all of our parents grades K-5 who attended the special meeting last night to discuss the issues of student social interaction. The unique quality of a Catholic school is that we can discuss who we are as Christians and use our faith to guide the decisions we make as children and people of faith. Our first step as a school has been to discuss with students and parents in grades K-5 the need to pay attention to what we do and how we do it. And, how our actions can affect others. The student presentation that puts these lessons into a more visual and educational context will be next Wednesday. All students in grades K-5 will be seeing the presentation "Oskar and the Big Bully Battle". This presentation will be at 8:45 a.m. in the Event Center. Thank you to Ms.Jolly, our school counselor, and Mrs. Good, our Service Learning Coordinator, for leading and guiding us in the process of supporting our children in making wise choices.
The 2nd trimester ends this week and report cards will be distributed on Friday. Please review your child's progress as reported. The students in all grades benefit from many opportunities to learn and discover. This 3rd trimester is a "fresh start" for all students!
This third week of Lent is a time to renew our promises and reflect on how we demonstrate our compassion. We, in concert with the parish are focusing on a theme each week of Lent to prepare us for the joy of Easter. The children receive a "Lenten Card" with a challenge word and a reflection for the week. Classroom teachers are using the cards in age appropriate ways to remind students of this season in our church calendar.
Today, the faculty and staff will visit Med Share. It is important for us, as a staff to be of service in the same capacity that we request of our students.
Grade 5 is preparing for our Multi-cultural Liturgy to be celebrated on March 16 at 8:30 a.m. All are welcome.
May we as a school community walk in the path of peace and justice.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Judy KoneffKlatt
Principal
