Welcome to First Grade
Welcome to St. Theresa School and First Grade. I am Vanessa Silva the First Grade teacher. This year marks my 12th year of teaching. I am excited about this brand new school year.To supplement the regular curriculum I will be adding fun and interesting topics that will be integrated across the curriculum. The units will incorporate Math, Language Arts, Art, Music and Science.

October - Where the Wild Things Are
November - Bears
December - Advent and Christmas
January - House/Community Unit
February - Dental Health
April - Insect Unit
May - States Unit
Students also learn about holidays and people who have shaped our country.
Students will be creating a Wild Thing monster and a building for the community project. Also, students will create a project and a written report for the Insect Unit and States Unit.
